The DoctorsDr Helen BaylissMB ChB, MRCGP, DCCH (1982 Bristol) Dr Pippa Brookes-WhiteMB B Ch (1992 Cardiff) Dr Neil GolderLI B(Hons), MB ChB, MRCP (1991 Manchester) (Date and place in brackets indicates date and place of first registration) THE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE TEAM PRACTICE MANAGER Mr Wesley Rouse is responsible for the general management and the day-to-day running of the Practice and will be able to help with any administrative and non-medical matters. He is also available to discuss suggestions or receive complaints. SUPPORT STAFF The support staff are comprised of Receptionists, Secretaries, Administrators and Dispensers: Receptionists are the first people in the Practice with whom you are likely to come into contact. They deal with the telephone, make appointments with the Doctors and Nurses, and give you the results of laboratory tests once they have been seen by the Doctor. They may also be able to help you with certificates, telephone numbers and other valuable services. Please take them into your confidence and they will do their best to deal with your requirements. All enquiries will be dealt with in complete confidence. Medical Secretaries organise referrals to hospitals and deal with routine office matters. They also enter data onto the Practice computer system. Administrators enter data onto the Practice computer system and deal with insurance/medical report requests. Dispensers deal with all the prescriptions made up at the surgery and will issue repeat prescription requests. Whether or not we can dispense to a patient depends on where they live; if in doubt, please ask. PRACTICE NURSES Cathie Beale, RGN, ENP & Family Planning Certificate; Juliette Meek, RGN; Janet Monk, RN. The Practice Nurses are available by appointment but can offer telephone advice. They undertake a wide range of procedures including cervical smear tests, ECGs, ear syringing, injections, routine immunisations, dressings, travel vaccinations and advice concerning minor ailments and injuries. They are particularly concerned with preventing disease and promoting good health. There are nurse-led clinics providing information and monitoring for those with diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure. Cathie Beale is a Nurse Prescriber and can prescribe for minor illnesses and runs a Minor Illness Clinic on Tuesday and Thursdays 8.30am – 10.30am. PHLEBOTOMISTS Our phlebotomists are Yvonne Agnew and Michelle Sullivan Phlebotomy (blood test) clinics are held daily between 8.30am – 11.30am. Appointments are needed at all times. |
