Temporary Residents

We are always happy to see any relatives or friends staying with you if they need a Doctor or Nurse.  They will need to fill out a short form for the information to be returned to their own Doctor.  Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment to allow time for completion of the necessary forms.

Sickness Certificate

It is not necessary to have a Doctor’s certificate until you have been absent continuously from work for seven days including weekends.  After three days you must obtain a self-certificate (SC2) from your employer.  If your employer insists on a private certificate for an illness of less than seven days duration then the Doctor will charge a fee of £10. If your illness continues for more than seven days then under the NHS your GP can issue an official statement (Med3) “sick note” to confirm your illness.

Children and the Waiting Room

We have a small play area in the waiting room which is unsupervised.  We do try to keep a selection of toys available which all are welcome to use, but we do invite parents to bring (and take away again!) toys to amuse their own children.

Non NHS Fees

Services outside the scope of the NHS will be charged according to a list of recommended fees.  The list can be found in the waiting room.  Non NHS services include HGV and PSV medicals, insurance company reports and medicals, private certificates, holiday cancellation, medical insurance reports/forms, pre-employment medicals, vaccination certificates, etc.  This list is not exhaustive.  Please enquire at reception if you are not sure of the cost when handing in your form for completion.
